IT Client Support Specialist
PBNJ Consulting Inc. was founded in 2001 and currently supports the IT systems of various organizations in the GTA. We work in a dynamic and fast pace environment and encourage a fun and open atmosphere, suited for driven and self motivated individuals. We are currently in need of an IT Client Support Specialist that would report to our head office, but be forward deployed to our clients’ offices and support their IT environments.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, configure and deploy Windows desktop and notebook computers
- Install, configure and maintain software applications on user workstations
- Answer user email, on-line and phone requests for technical assistance
- Troubleshoot and resolve user technical issues
- Install, configure and maintain PDAs (PalmPilot, BlackBerry)
- Keep a complete daily time log
- Maintain inventory and relevant documentation
- Complete a maintenance checklists to upkeep and maintain Windows servers
- Monitor critical applications, such as Mail services, Backups and AntiVirus
- Maintain VPN and remote access services
- Escalate major issues and project requests to the appropriate specialists
- Assist with deployments and migrations of hardware and software
Skills:
- Windows XP and 2000 Professional
- Microsoft Office Suites
- Workstation hardware (IDE, SATA, SCSI)
- AntiVirus, AntiSPAM and AntiSpyWare Applications (Symantec, McAfee, SpamNet, SpyBot)
- Understanding of Windows Servers and Active Directory
- Understanding of Backup Systems
- Understanding of Firewalls and VPNs
Qualifications:
- College/CEGEP/Vocational or Technical training
- 1-2 years experience in a related field
- Microsoft certification is a plus
